I am Johan, currently pursuing a PhD at the Faculty of Science and Engineering, University of Groningen. My research interests lie in metamaterials, composite materials, and optimization algorithms. My PhD project involves developing mechanical and acoustic metamaterials in a programmable manner and experimentally verifying the design results. My academic journey has equipped me with skills in finite element analysis, geometric modeling, coding, and various experimental techniques. Additionally, I am passionate about photography, capturing nature, buildings, and portraits.
